Tempel is an open cultural center in Pärnu that grew from a grassroots level in 2016 and reopened in the historic Pärnu Rannakino in 2025. aastal.

Our program offers the audience a diverse musical and cultural experience—a blend of live music, DJ nights, performing arts, and subcultures. The program spans a wide range of genres and features performances by both well-known names and emerging artists.

Open ten months a year, the cultural centre offers accessible spaces for creative activities; folk dance troupes hold training sessions, while choirs, ensembles, and other creative groups conduct rehearsals at Tempel on a regular basis. You, too, are welcome to bring your creative work to Tempel

Our principles

Cultural Club Tempel is guided in its activities by the principles of openness, equality, cooperation, and responsible conduct. We respect all people, regardless of their age, gender, nationality, religious or cultural background, sexual identity, special needs, or worldview.

We operate in the public interest and create a safe, accessible, and caring cultural environment for visitors, partners, performers, and volunteers alike. We value community collaboration, transparency, creative freedom, and mutual respect.

Culture Club Tempel does not tolerate discrimination, incitement of hatred, harassment, or abuse in any form. In the event of conflicts or issues, we rely on dialogue, responsible behavior, and the maintenance of a safe environment for all parties involved.

We are committed to developing a sustainable cultural environment that supports the community, and we adhere to good governance and collaboration practices in our activities.

Culture Club Tempel House Rules

These house rules are binding on all visitors to Kultuuriklubi Tempel (hereinafter “Tempel”). By entering Tempel, the visitor agrees to comply with the house rules and to follow the instructions of the staff and security personnel. Unfamiliarity with the house rules does not exempt a visitor from the obligation to comply with them.

Age limit

From 11:00 PM onwards, entry to Tempel is permitted only for persons aged 18 and over, except for special events where the organizer has specified otherwise.

The following are considered documents proving age:

  • ID-card
  • Pasport
  • Drivers licence

In the absence of the document, a Temple employee or security guard has the right to deny the visitor entry.

General rules

  • An admission pass purchased upon entering the temple ceases to be valid upon exiting the building, unless the event organizer has specified otherwise.
  • Security personnel have the right to deny entry to a visitor wearing improper or inappropriate clothing.
  • Entry into and presence in the temple are prohibited for persons who are heavily intoxicated by alcohol or drugs, or whose behavior disturbs other visitors or staff.
  • It is prohibited to bring one’s own alcohol, narcotic substances, or other banned substances into the temple.
  • It is forbidden to enter the temple with a weapon or other dangerous object.
  • Bringing your own food and drinks may be restricted, depending on the event or the organizer’s terms.

Safety and responsibility

  • Tempel is not responsible for unattended items.
  • Losing the cloakroom tag costs €5.
  • Tempel is not liable for any damage to visitors’ phones, cameras, computers, or other electronic or personal devices occurring during the events.
  • Temple staff and security personnel have the right to check visitors’ personal belongings and documents for the purposes of security and compliance with house rules.
  • Temple property must be used with due care. Any damage caused by a visitor must be compensated for in proportion to the extent of the damage.

Conduct in the Temple

  • Smoking and the use of e-cigarettes are permitted only in designated and marked areas.
  • Visitors must respect other visitors, performers, and staff. Harassing, violent, discriminatory, or dangerous behavior is not permitted.
  • Temple staff have the right to order a visitor to leave or to issue a ban on entering the premises if the visitor violates the house rules or damages the Temple’s reputation.

 Additional conditions determined by the organizer may apply to different events.

 

On 1. february 2025 began Tempel’s new era with reopening in Pärnu’s former beach cinema.

Tempel was first opened on 15. April 2016 and hosted consistently approximately 150 events in a year. That crazy time in old postoffice’s third floor brought Pärnu back on the map for touring ensembles. Together with Pärnu’s amazing audience, Temple was a meeting place for popular and alternative music friends. Along with music program, their way to us found movie friends, painters, poets, performance artists, memory game enthusiasts, etc. Tempel closed its doors due to Covid virus arrival.

After a short break, Tempel continues its program in a new stately beach cinema building. In addition to concerts and parties, Tempel is a safe meeting place for locals and visitors. The program now also includes performances, stand-up shows, quizzes, exhibitions, etc. With two halls, Tempel is the largest popular music concert venue between Tallinn and Riga and is also wheelchair accessible. We are part of the Estonian music industry ecosystem, a member of Music Estonia and the Pärnu community has contributed a lot to us. Tempel won the Pärnu Act of the Year in 2017, the Pärnu Inclusive Budget in 2021 and collected over 15 000 € in support from Hooandja. Thank you for that!
